Spring
Workshop

When you were born,
you cried
and the world rejoiced.

Life your life
in such a manner
That when you die,
the world cries
And you rejoice.
ancient
native American proverb

Go placidly
amid the noise
and the haste, and
remember what peace
there may be in silence

Graced Insights:
A Women's Lifewriting Retreat
A graced insight is a recognition of divine direction, an openness to an agenda not of our own
design.  Letting go of our expectations and listening to different perspectives opens us to a more
creative life.
Graced Insights explores the commonalities and diversities of women’s spiritual
lives in our complex, modern world.   This interactive workshop provides a means for composing
spiritual memoirs.  Much more personal than autobiographical writing, spiritual memoirs are
reflections on a life composition, our personal history as it is manifested in our spirituality.

This day-long workshop is a cross-denominational, non-judgmental forum for speaking our
individual truths. It is designed as an examination of our spirituality as it impacts our lives, and
how our life experiences shape our spirituality.  We’ll examine our search for individuality, and
our desire for community and communion with the divine.  There will be solitary time for
reflection, and communal time for building community. We will recall and reflect on our meaning
by writing and sharing personal essays on our individual journeys.  We’ll use timed writings,
varied charting methods and quiet time.  We’ll observe our lives from perspectives other than
our own, and share our crucibles and obstacles to living the kind of spiritual lives we desire.

For those persons composing their
ethical wills, this workshop may help you clarify your values
and beliefs and may provide you with additional content for your legacy letter.
